Console gamers received some good news today ahead of the release of the potential King of first person shooters, Battlefield 3. It was reported that an in-game server browser will definitely be a feature in Battlefield 3‘s multiplayer for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. In an interview at Gamescom today, EA DICE General Manager Karl Magnus confirmed this news which was then relayed via the official Battlefield Twitter feed.
It is still yet to be seen how effective the server browser will be, but this is no doubt a positive step forward for console gaming in general, as it means that there is one less thing that PC will have over the consoles in the future. The server browser will function the same as a PC server browser, enabling players to search for a server name, server location, player capacity, current map, and more.
